10 Cute Summer Dresses For Tall Women

While we’re just heading into winter here in Australia, some of you tall ladies are starting to feel the sun’s warm rays on your skin!

We can only imagine how excited you must be to finally get rid of your puffy jackets, warm sweaters and heavy winter boots. But we also know the struggle of finding cute summer dresses that actually cover your bum and hit at the right spot on your waist, let alone make you look good and feel confident!

We’ve rounded up some of our favourite summer dresses for tall women, both from fellow small women-owned businesses and from standard high-street retailers:

1. Tall Leaf Print Wrap Maxi Dress by TJL Collection

Tiffany from TJL Collection has truly outdone herself with her latest Paradise Collection! We have our hearts set on this beautiful wrap maxi dress; we love the addition of a tie that accentuates the waist and the print has us dreaming of tropical destinations (we’d kill for a pina colada right now).

2. V-Neck Slip Dress by Fame and Partners

All Fame and Partners garments are made-to-order to fit your exact measurements; if you have a special event to attend or simply do not want to settle for clothes that don’t fit perfectly, have a look at their offering that can be tailored to your height.

3. Annie Ruffle Dress by Tall & Isi

With a flattering midi length and adjustable ruching, we love how easy to wear this dress is! Just add flat sandals for a trip to the farmer’s market or dress it up for a night out on the town. Have we mentioned the leg slit? Show off what your mama gave ya!

4. Gingham Tall Maxi Dress by Amalli Talli

A maxi dress that actually touches the floor? Groundbreaking! For us tall girls anyways. Even better, this gingham dress comes in two lengths, making it maxi for 6’ and above babes as well. The adjustable tie shoulders also deserve a special mention as we know all too well that every woman carries her length in different places!

5. Halter Midi Dress by Banana Republic

We love Banana Republic for its range of tall women’s work clothes, but let’s not forget their collection of stylish summer dresses for tall ladies! We love this gorgeous frock in a rich yellow shade - just add drop earrings and heels for the perfect summer wedding outfit.

6. Polka Dot Shift Dress by Stand Tall

We love a good shift dress, especially in a polka dot print! Perfect for the office or cocktail hour with the girls, just add a pair of pumps or strappy heeled sandals.

7. Park Slope Maxi Dress by Free People

Free People is known for its flowy, boho summer dresses and this one is no exception! While the sizing is not made specifically for the tall, this romantic floral dress doesn't have a defined waist and will look amazing whether it touches the floor or hits your mid-calf. Perfect to throw on over a swimsuit!

8. Tall Floral Smocked Bodice Maxi Dress by Ann Taylor

Did you know that Ann Taylor has tall sizes for women 5’9 and over? Well, now you do! We love the puff sleeves and the smocked bodice on this super feminine pick!

9. Smocked Waist Mini Dress by Abercrombie & Fitch

A mini dress made specifically for girls over 5’8? Dreams do come true! A&F is continually expanding its range of on-trend tall clothing so it’s worth checking out their website if you haven’t browsed it since high school.

10. Strappy Maxi Dress by Love Long Clothing

This one is for our South African babes! Love Long Clothing was founded by a mother-daughter duo to cater exclusively to tall women in their home country; all clothes are manufactured locally (just like our swimsuits - how good is it to be able to support local).
